Birth Doula Profile

Cris Van Grol came to birth work after the birth of her own son, where she found herself wondering if other new parents were struggling (like her) or thriving, had enough support, and had people they could talk to about the realities of birth and parenthood. Her own experiences inspire her work as a doula, where she serves as a gentle but fierce guide and nurturing presence for families. Cris is deeply committed to helping childbearing people feel prepared and capable as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

In 2018, Cris completed training as a birth doula with Carriage House Birth and mentorship with postpartum thought leaders Birdsong Brooklyn. In 2019, she began supporting families as a full-spectrum doula and became a Certified Birth Educator with Doula Trainings International.

In addition to her birth work, Cris is a mother of two, partner, and a homemaker. She practices self-love through journaling, tarot, and moving her body to music.
