Childbirth Educator Profile

Meet

Melody Osgood, LAc, Doula, CBE, Placenta Specialist

Childbirth Education, Acupuncture, Doula, Placenta Encapsulation

As a certified childbirth educator, doula, and licensed acupuncturist, my mission is to guide expectant parents with evidence-based education, nurturing support, and holistic wisdom. I believe that informed, confident families transform birth experiences—and my passion is helping you embrace this journey with clarity, trust, and joy.

My Journey to Birth Work

From an early age, I knew I was called to healthcare—but my path took a transformative turn. After studying Biomedical Sciences, I realized conventional medicine didn’t align with my vision of whole-person care. Discovering Traditional Chinese Medicine (and later, acupuncture) revealed a profound truth: true healing addresses both root and branch.

My love for life’s transitions—especially birth—led me to become a doula (DONA-trained) and specialize in fertility, pregnancy, and perinatal care. Over the years, I’ve deepened my expertise with advanced training in:

Childbirth education (equipping families with tools for empowered choices)

Pelvic floor health + optimal fetal positioning

Acupuncture for fertility, pregnancy, and labor support

Placenta encapsulation + postpartum wellness

Why Childbirth Education?

Birth is more than a medical event—it’s a rite of passage. My classes blend modern science with intuitive wisdom, covering:
✔ Physiology of labor + pain management techniques
✔ Advocacy + informed decision-making
✔ Acupuncture/acupressure for labor progression
✔ Postpartum preparation + holistic recovery
Beyond the Classroom

When I’m not teaching, attending births, or offering acupuncture, you’ll find me foraging wild herbs, gardening with my son, or hiking with my husband and two cats. (Yes, I practice what I preach—rest, nature, and balance are my core medicines!)

Let’s journey together—because every family deserves a birth story rooted in knowledge, empowerment, and support.
